COUNSELLING & PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

(I)         COURT COUNSELLORS/ PSYCHOLOGISTS/SOCIAL WORKERS

The successful candidate will be primarily involved in court clinical services such as divorce conciliation and custody evaluation, and risk assessments for juveniles and highly conflicted families involved in legal disputes. You will need to assist families to find resolutions to complex problems identified with particular attention to the safety and best interests of children and victims of violence. In addition, you will be involved in all aspects of administering best practices in Family, Juvenile (Children Care) Court processes through maintaining an awareness of developments in psychosocial considerations within the judicial system. 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Relevant degree, preferably Masters or postgraduate in social work, psychology, counselling or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience after graduation with couples, families, children, and juveniles
  • Experience in areas of mediation and conciliation, custody evaluation, marital and family therapy, risk assessments in juvenile delinquency and family violence would be advantageous
  • Be proficient in spoken and written English and be able to deliver information effectively through oral presentation and written reports
  • Be a flexible team player who thrives in an environment that requires the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple roles

(a)     You must be either a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.

(b)     Successful candidates will be appointed under the Management Executive Scheme on a one or two year(s) contract subject to emplacement on the permanent establishment.
