 Forensic Services – A multi-disciplinary assessment and intervention team The Challenges You will be actively providing assessment and therapeutic intervention services to children and youth who have offended, or are at risk of engaging in delinquent and antisocial behaviour. The aim is to tackle the problem of juvenile delinquency, reduce its negative impact on the individual, family and community and enhance the mental health and functioning of this population. The client population will also include young people with mental health issues. You will be working closely with the youth/child, his family, school, peer and community systems. The service provided will be both at the individual, family and group level. In addition, you will be actively involved in helping victims of abuse, especially sexual abuse, and their families. The Requirements - Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team comprising Doctors, Psychologists, Medical Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Nurses.
- At least 3 - 4 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in working with children and adolescents, especially in a rehabilitative/corrective setting and/or family setting is required.
- Willingness and passion to work with troubled youth is an advantage
Medical Social Worker - Degree / Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work or Masters in Counseling
- Registered/Associate social worker with the SASW will be an advantage.
- Possess skills and knowledge in individual and family counselling, group work and training.

In addition, you will be involved in all aspects of administering best practices in Family, Juvenile (Children Care) Court processes through maintaining an awareness of developments in psychosocial considerations within the judicial system. - Minimum of 5 years work experience after graduation with couples, families, children, and juveniles
