SWD 2008 Logo and Theme

The twin themes of according recognition to social workers for the hard and significant work that they do and urging workers to care for themselves and each other, contribute to achieving our wish of “Keeping the Fire Ablaze” in the profession. The warmth, exuberance and passion of social workers is highlighted through the striking colours of orange and red.

The genogram (a common tool utilised by social workers) within the logo is symbolic of the communal spirit of social workers, and the need to remain interconnected and united as a family to provide support for the betterment of the community and the well-being of clients. At the same time, there is a need to keep our own personal well-beings in check, by stoking the fires of passion and motivation.
